Mrs. Taneka Collins began her career in Park Hill School District as a School Counselor in 2015. Prior to coming to the Park Hill School District, Mrs. Collins received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services at Columbia College in 2012 and her Masters of Education in Counseling at Stephens College in 2015. Mrs. Collins has worked in various community agencies prior to starting her career in education. She has served as a Community Support Specialist with Burrell Behavioral Health working with children and adolescents, an AmeriCorps member, and as an advocate for women of domestic violence.  

Her passion is to ensure that every child understands the greatness they carry within themselves. Mrs. Collins' focus is on being more intentional and mindful of the impact she is making in the lives of students, her colleagues, and with family and friends.

Counseling services offered at Line Creek are: classroom counseling lessons, small group & individual counseling, individual student planning, and system support.

Mission

Our mission is to support life-long success for all Line Creek Elementary students, the School Counselor works with students, parents, and staff to facilitate a comprehensive guidance program that teaches respect, responsibility, and positive role modeling.

Small Group & Individual Counseling

Small group and Individual counseling are available for students, with parent permission, to support their social emotional skill growth, and/or academics .

Small group & Individual counseling focuses are, but not limited to: skills for learning, self-esteem, emotional regulation, social skills, resiliency, and/or life changes. 

If you feel that your child needs assistance in any social emotional area, please reach out to Mrs. Collins. 

Referral Form

If a student, needs to check in with Mrs. Collins to discuss a problem or feeling they are experiencing, they can request to see me by asking their teacher, emailing me, or parent contact. Please remind your student that if what they want to speak to me about is an emergency and/or someone is in danger, to tell an adult immediately.
